Minocqua is full of annual events, from snowmobile racing to beef festivals, and Independence Day celebrations to Colorama, the celebration of fall foliage. No matter what time of year you choose to visit the area, there’s sure to be something special going on.
Independence Day in Minocqua is full of family fun. The day begins with a kiddie parade before the main parade, which is followed by the Lakeland Community Concert Band at Torpy Park. And after a performance by the Min-Aqua Bats water ski team, the fireworks begin. Free shuttles run in and out of downtown all day.
Beef-a-Rama is a Minocqua tradition almost 50 years old that has brought nearly 500,000 visitors to the area over the years. It is a fun-filled celebration complete with a 5K run, roast cook-offs, games, costumes, live music, a craft show, and delicious local fare to complement the ever-present beef. Each year an entire ton of beef is served to over 12,000 people during the Beef-a-Rama celebration.
Other annual events include the Northwoods Hymn Festival, the Lakeland Loppet ski races, Ingla Lami Women’s Day at Minocqua Winter Park, the Festival of Flowers, Festival Aurora Borealis, Lake Tomahawk Annual Fall Harvest Festival, Pumpkin Tree Festival, Fall Family Festival, and the Lake Tomahawk Lioness Fall Festival.
There are also numerous craft shows, races and parades to mark various holidays throughout the year.
The Spring Arts and Craft Show is held in June and features more than 120 interesting and unique arts and craft exhibitors, fun live music, great food and drink. The show takes place at Torpy Park in downtown Minocqua. The Fall Colors Craft Show takes place in September and is also held in downtown Minocqua. There’s also the After Loon Delight Craft Show, ‘Tis the Season Craft Show, and the Lions Club Craft Show.
